INSTRUCTIONS FOR VIEWING THE HOME MOVIES
BELOW The video files have been converted from Digital Video to Window Media (*.wmv). The quality of Windows Media is poor compared to Digital Video but is ideal for distribution of moving pictures via the web. The Windows Media files below are 100 times smaller than the raw video filmed on the camcorder. The quality is acceptable considering the high degree of compression. If you are running a Windows 98 or higher operating system on your computer, the Windows Media files should be able to run using Windows Media Player or by playing it directly through your browser. If you want to watch the video more than once or want to show it to another person and don't want to go through the hassle of downloading again, instead of left-clicking on the links below, try right-clicking and selecting "save target as". You can then save the file to a known location rather than to a temporary directory. If you have a high speed internet connection you will be able to download the video clips much faster. If you have a dial-up connection, I suggest that you click on the clip that you want to watch and then go have a cup of coffee. When you come back, a family video will be ready for viewing. My apologies to Macintosh users; most of the video listed are in Windows Media Format and are unfortunately not viewable on older Apple computers. However, if you are running MAC OS X, Apple's newest operating system, you can view these movies and many other Microsoft Media by clicking here. Read the instructions and then download Windows Media Player for MAC OS X 10.1.5 or higher.
Now Mac users will be able
to view the videos because all videos listed below Marina's first high
school dance will be shown in Apple QuickTime (*.mov) format in addition to
Windows Media format. |
